Why the new Abortion Ban in Texas is effectively useless

If you have been paying any attention to the news recently, you will have noticed that Texas passed an anti-abortion bill that says it will stop abortions at 6 weeks of pregnancy. It is a heartbeat bill but allows outside people to sue (Ie: the dad who didn't get a say, the parents, but usually just the abortive mom.)  Why is this bill useless? At every clinic they are not going to set up medically minded police officers to enforce the law. There are over 14,000 abortion clinics in Texas alone or places that do abortions. (Hospitals and OBGYNs are included) You would need at LEAST 14,000 cops are more to be able to monitor every clinic. There are over 78,000 officers in Texas. For two officers per clinic you would need 28,000 officers. This would leave only 50,000 officers to keep the peace in the ENTIRE STATE of Texas. In 2020 there were a little over 3,000 officers in Dallas, TX alone.  If you expect an officer in each clinic, you're being dishonest. Or you're at least o

Money making apps. Do they actually work?

So, if you're anything like me, you're always looking for some way to make some extra money. I decided to try a couple gaming apps and a survey app. Here are the names if you're interested in them: Rewarded Play Playspot Qmee We will go through them one at a time.  I have had Rewarded Play for about 4 days and here are some things I've noticed right off the bat.  1. You need to have a phone with a LOT of storage.  2. You need 45K points for your first $5 giftcard.  3. At some point you will be required to use the three apps for two days that you download.  I don't think I will be able to complete the giftcard and will probably end up deleting the app altogether.  I have had Playspot for about a day and depending on the game, you can make a lot of coins, which translate to money. The highest giftcard you can get is $200 which is around 200,000 coins. If you play enough games, you can make that amount easily. I have 3-4 different games downloaded currently and altern

Outschool, Sales jobs, and more

As many of you probably know, I teach on Outschool. Recently, due to issues with my internet, I have not been teaching ASL as frequently on the website. While I need the money, we are unable to get internet at our house. I was recently paid 31.50 for two different classes which was divided up to be placed in savings, another checking account, my credit card, and student loans. I was also paid around $63 for another class that was also divided against those things.  I was able to pay about 25.50 against my student loans. While that may not seem like a lot, it is getting my $750 loan down to 725. I have more loans but that is the one I'm currently working on. I also have an Ebay account that is very inactive. I have things listed but few things are bought. Whenever I get money from there it usually goes against my credit card or it goes against my loan.  My husband has a sales job and is searching for a new job. He dislikes the fact that he isn't making enough sales and it is ca

Baby Showers and Anxiety

I have anxiety. It started to manifest when I was young but didn't go into full swing until I was 16 years old. I can pinpoint it that directly due to the circumstances surrounding it.  What does this have to do with baby showers? I am having one in August. My mom and a family friend are planning it for me. I hate being the center of attention so I am not looking forward to that. There are some people coming who I haven't met yet.  I am excited for the baby shower though because it means I can better take care of Lizzy. I would like her to be well taken care of. My best friend brought me some baby clothes for her that ranged from 0-5T. My little baby is already well loved by her "aunt".  I love Lizzy so much already. She kicks and rolls, bounces and jumps. I love feeling all of it, even when sometimes it hurts. I can't wait to hold her in my arms. 9 more weeks and I get to meet her in person. I am terrified and excited. Excited to meet her, terrified for childbir

30 weeks pregnant, cooking, and more.

This week I am in my 30th week for pregnancy. I am excited and nervous because I only have 10 weeks left. I am nowhere near ready for this baby but I am doing my best. I have started cleaning my house better and I noticed I seem to be doing more "nesting" activities. I am doing dishes more frequently, cooking bigger meals, and overall just preparing for the arrival of the baby.  I am hoping to transport some of the baby furniture here in August. I think the day we do that, I will also invite mom and dad over for supper with the kids. It will be crowded, but it would be worth it. Especially if we can move the baby stuff in.  Rory bought a huge hamburger thing, so we are going to use that eventually. I'll probably pull it out of the freezer tomorrow so its thawed by Monday. Then I can cut it up and repackage it for storage on Tuesday. I plan on making "fake tacos" (hamburger, potatoes, carrots), hamburgers, casserole, etc. I am hoping to make freezer meals as wel
